Scottish Open Canoe Symposium 2012
28th – 30th September 2012
The Open Canoe Symposium is back in Scotland and at Glenmore Lodge in 2012. This popular event brings together canoeists of all levels experience and abilities. There is a collection of practical workshops run by experienced coaches who all give their time for free. You get the chance to exchange experiences with other paddlers, you can try out new boats, purchase equipment from trade stands and generally have a fantastic time with other open boaters.
Accommodation will be available at Glenmore Lodge with camping or camper-vanning also available in the grounds. If you want to arrange your own accommodation you can come as a day delegate.
The following prices are inclusive of meals from Saturday morning to Sunday tea and cakes and therefore represent good value for money.
All rooms are on a shared basis. Please advise Glenmore Lodge on booking if you want to share with a particular person.

Any equipment hired is done so on the basis that if you break it or lose it you pay for it.
A provisional programme should be available on www.glenmorelodge.org.uk and www.canoesymposium.co.uk by the end of May, however in the past we have offered workshop sessions at beginner, intermediate and advanced level both on the river and on the loch. There have also been additional workshops run alongside these that have included bushcraft skills, sailing, poling, rolling a canoe etc.
Stirling Canoes are supporting the Canoe Symposium and will have a symposium shop on site. They will also have some demo boats available.
There will be a Friday evening talk presenter to be confirmed.
Saturday Evening programme to include an evening talk, video presentation of the day followed by music in the bar.
